API signs a new Frame Agreement with Fincantieri

Resin branded API will continue to be poured on the decks built at Fincantieri’s shipyards, following to the signing of a new Frame Agreement between the Mignanego (Genoa, Italy)-based company specializing in resin flooring and the world’s leading shipbuilding group.

The relationship between the two players therefore adds an important new chapter to a success story that has been going on for more than 30 years. The bond between API and Fincantieri is further strengthened with this third frame agreement, following those signed in 2015 and 2019, through which more than 30 cruise ships have already been built.

This new ten-year agreement will see API involved in the construction of 23 new ships, with deliveries scheduled between winter 2026 and summer 2036.

“This is a consolidation initiative with one of the world’s benchmark shipyards. Thanks to this agreement, the quality of our work has once again been recognized,” says Veno Cravino, Managing Director of API. “We are therefore truly proud of this new mark of esteem, which confirms our brand as a permanent, trusted supplier of Fincantieri.”

Moreover, this recognition is reflected in the steady growth of the overall economic value of the projects carried out by API over the years of collaboration.

“But the real evolution that enabled us to make a quantum leap began in 2020: the global situation obviously put us to the test; only a new internal reorganization of resources and techniques allowed us to step up our game and sustain high production rates and the requirements of every type of project worldwide,” confirms Matteo Murru, CEO and CFO of API.

The development plan of the RPM International subsidiary has, on the one hand, strengthened its global operations and, on the other, aimed to reconfirm— as quickly as possible—one of its most strategic partners in the local area.

The long-standing relationship built in the field together with Fincantieri has certainly made it possible to reach a new agreement in a very short time, demonstrating the recognized value of both our work and our products, from the well-established ones to the innovative solutions.”

The shared direction is therefore fully confirmed: to explore new routes in design, technology, and safety for onboard flooring, thanks to a perfectly proven asset.
